March 28th schedule, you are invited
Breakfast - Food Not Bombs
Ways and Means Committee hearing
UNLV Architecture homeless shelters
Busy day for March 28th. This is just a reminder.
Breakfast gathering in Las Vegas to discuss AB 126 at 7am in front of Cashman Field (E. Washington Ave and Las Vegas Blvd).
People from the gathering will then proceed to room 4401 at the Grant Sawyer
Building to participate in the Ways and Means Committee hearing at 8am.
If possible, organizers of this breakfast ask that each person attending
bring donuts, pastries, juice, etc. for six homeless people.
The Assembly Ways & Means Committee is scheduled to meet and discuss AB 126 tomorrow Wednesday March 28th at 8AM. (AB 126 proposed by Assemblywoman Sheila Leslie. This bill is requesting $20 million for transitional housing.)
Please try to arrive by 8am so that we can show our numbers. The bill is only scheduled for about 20-25 minutes, so you will have ample time to get to work or school by 9am. Please continue to contact your legislators with letter, emails and phone calls to show your support for this bill. Click on the link below to find your legislators and committee memberships.

UNLV Architecture Students, Overview: The professor at UNLV Architecture class invited me and a couple of my friends to observe the students' homeless shelter project.
We visited the classroom on March 9th and listened to their presentations.
Each of them are building personal homeless shelters for one person to use.
On Friday, March 23rd, the students tested their shelters.
On this day, five students tested their shelters in front of the Architecture
building on Brussels Street from 1-5pm. About 35 students tested in the back
of the building from 5-11pm.
Wednesday, March 28th the students will be setting up their final projects
from 1-6pm. Media is invited. The students would like to donate their
shelters and instructions to those in need. We are asking for suggestions on
how to distribute these shelters.
Thanks to everyone for all you do to help the homeless and the poor.
