I live in Little Rock and my husband and I and our five small children are about to be served with an eviction notice tomorrow. We have no money and nowhere to go. We've been running a small internet design company for several years, but outsourcing has DESTROYED our business. We have no friends or relatives that can help out with either shelter or money. I have no idea where to go for help. Any ideas? :(

Hi mommy2five, I have a few ideas on some places to get a hold of. One place would be to contact your local Dept.of Social Services. They may be able to help and some departments have emergency funds to help those with eviction notices. Also, here is a link to the housing authority in your state: http://www.northlr.org/city-directory/housing-authority/ I would call them and see what they can do to help. They should be able to give you information to other organizations that may also be able to help. If you are facing homelessness, the local shelter would also be a good place to call. I had to go into a local shelter a few years ago, and I had 5 children with me. They were able to put us up for a while until we could find another house.

A client prepaid me for some design work and I have held off the eviction for a few weeks. :)

I hope we can get caught up, but we still have to come up with another $1200 by the 27th just to get caught up enough so we won't be evicted right away.
