Day Labor Isn't Working Anymore. It's Time For Something Else.

It's Tuesday morning and the day labor office has not sent me to work since last Thursday. They were sending me to work most of the time I showed up, but that seems to have dried up.

When something doesn't work anymore, it's time to do something new. The law of averages is on my side, and by the law of averages, they will have to send you to work sometime. That's all I need for now.

I need $29.00, and that will buy me a bus ticket to someplace else in Florida. I plan to go to Saint Petersburg and get a full time job. It has a better economy and therefore a better job market. Jacksonville doesn't have anything going for it.

Right now, any full time job will do. I'm not going to be picky. I don't even need to enjoy it. All I need it to be is a stepping stone to achieve my goals in life.

I'm trying to stick to my plan, and right now my plan includes not spending money.

I've decided that I will ONLY spend money on three things. They are: starting my own business, personal hygiene products, and shelter. However, I will only spend money on shelter when I have used up all of my free days. One shelter in Jacksonville offers three free days per month, and another one offers seven free days per month. That's ten days per month that I can save money.

When I get a full time job, I will still stick to the no spending plan. I'll stick to it until I'm self employed in my own business. However, this requires alot of discipline. Food is not in my budget. There are several places I can get it for free. That's the hard part. I have to wait until supper. I have money I can spend on food, but I'm not going to let myself do it. It's hard to stay away from the hotdog carts in the park, but right now I simply must do it to get somewhere in life.

Hey johhny,

I work thru able body on a steady wielding ticket out of the clearwater area. And hey i understand, its tough. Those places have their fav's and don't even go by the list. At least not the ones here, labor ready, able body, etc. I am lucky i guess, i work there alot, but i wish you luck. As far as not spending money, thats something i just can't do. And i wonder why i have only so much in the bank. Holds up starbucks cup and checkers bag, shrug...

Day Labor Is Exactly What The Name Implies "Labor For The Day" But On The Bright Side Its Nice To Have Some Cash Even If Its Only 50-60 Bucks And They Dont Have Any Work Again For A Week Cause Chances Are I Had Nothing Else Going For Me That Day ANYHOW

I Am Still Looking For Full Time Employment Though
