Will you let us know if my translations are correct ? Also can you tell us what part of the world you are in ? I think what you are saying in your first post is : I am looking for someone [that has] been homeless before I can tell how it is to be homeless. You must be homeless before you know. [how it is] Is this correct ? Post 2 would read: [Are] you homeless, or [have you] been homeless, I am going to be homeless in February [and] I want to know how it is ? Is this correct ? If this is correct, the answers that you want can be found by reading these forums, there is a lot of information from many different people. The only real way of knowing what it's like to be homeless is to experience it for yourself, but if you have an alternative I would strongly suggest that you take it. Being homeless does not solve problems, it creates problems for most people. Good luck, NoVAboi 02-19-2008, 04:15 PM Protips: -If ya get infested by scabies or lice, Tea Tree oil works like a charm... expensive, tho. -Day labor places. $35 for four hours, where I was. -Mall dumpsters have things to sell, grocery store dumpsters have packs of soda/other food with only a few of the things within leaking. Stay away from the white powdered ones, that's rat poison. -carry all your things on you. -a condom is a must for sexual activity, and STD tests are free. Well, that's my two cents. Olivia 02-19-2008, 05:31 PM Make sure you have warm clothes. Keeping warm is a big thing - you don't want to get sick on the streets, it sucks SO bad. Um, it's kind of illegal, but clothing bins (where people drop off clothing to be recycled, or to charities) are a great place to get new clothes. I've also heard that they're good to sleep in if it's really cold. Dumpsters are great for food if you learn the right times to go to them. There was a bakery dumpster that I went to as few times when I was homeless and it had the nice-est rolls and danishes and things. If you can, I'd bring a waterproof jacket or something, for when it rains. If I think of some more, I'll post them later |
