Nicole asks: I am doing an assignment for 4th year social work regarding homelessness and refugees. I was wondering if you have statistics and what the process is that they have to go through if they can obtain any kind of rental or housing.

Answer: It's different from state to state, but I'd contact these places:
Federal - Department of Imigration and also ask Centrelink
State - Department of Housing
They will have policy documents, program annual reports, and straight stats. If you don't get the info you need from them, ring the office of your local state and federal members and ask them for a person and number to call for each respective department.
Also check out jrs.org.au Veronika may have something for you if you want to give her a call.
