i am interested in helping someone out who's on the streets...specially during winter...in any way i can. i want to help someone who has it really bad and has no one to go to. i don't know how to do this exactly...any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums. your best bet is to contact some of the service providers who operate in that area. I'll see if I can find you some addresses.

The BEST thing to do is become AWARE of who are homeless, how they became homeless, why they are homeless, why do you want to help, how can you help, who can you contact....once you've established that....(quite a big thing to do)...then maybe you will help some-one because you care enough to know and find out. Being part of this network is invaluable itself!!!! Awareness is everything. Hope this helps.

Hey welcome to the forums. It's always inspiring to hear from people who want to do more than just make a donation. My recomendation is to volunteer with a service working with the homeless. Rose will probably come back to you with some suggestions in your local community.

I haven't been able to find much at all in the Dover area, which leads me to thinking maybe you could get some people together and start something. The organisation below has a list of homeless shelters all over the United States. If you contact them, they should be able to direct you to the nearest shelter, where you may be able to find out what you can do to help.
