Cead mile failte!!

A big Irish welcome to all the Guests!!! :D

Everytime I visit recently there always seems to be a lot of guests visiting... at the moment there are 22 people here...Why not pull up a chair and register with the forum..we wont bite!!!

Over the last few months there has been a lot of people visiting, indeed a lot of people have registered to the forum and it is very heartening for all of us to see the community grow!

It would be great if more people could sign up and help the community develop throughout the world. It is very important that we all use these forums to bounce ideas about, share experiences and have a bit of craic!!!

Lets see how long it takes to get a few hundred of us to get know each other :D

You never know what we might achieve

All the very best,

Jon

p.s. A big belated hello to all the new members :)

Some of the visitors may be search engine spiders indexing the pages. Most identify themselves but there are a lot that just sift for email addresses to spam so they will only show up as guests.

If you aren't a search engine spider though we would love to hear from you. Sign in and intro yourself.

hey every one my names holly. I came across this sight when i was searching the net about homeless youth cause im doing a relgion assignment on it. Im not actually homeless but i found it really cool reading all your converstations and how nice and positive u guys r, mostly the convos between sk8r rat and dominic and streetseen Hey streetseen i really liked ur quote “people seem to think that homeless people are 'objects' not people with families and feelings that they can say what they want about them” im using it in my assignment. i changed it a bit though....i have just finished writing a pragraph read it if u want and get back to me on what you think:

We have discovered a sight that is like a homeless chat room. This sight allows homeless youth to talk with one another and share their problems and stories. The sight is called JPET, Job Placement, Employment and Training. JPET has been helping the community since 1958, they help people between the ages of 15 and 19 to get their lives back on track. They help people with issues from drug abuse to social isolation and alienation. They help people with employment, education, family relationships, health, matters and much more. Surprisingly these people on the website talk about their problems openly and look at the best of things, they don’t feel sorry for themselves and are positive nice normal human beings just like everyone else. It is sad that people are scared of them, they judge them on how they look and live, a boy who calls himself street seen says “people seem to think that homeless people are 'objects' not people with families and feelings that they can say what they want about them”. The young people on the streets really appreciate JPET and what they do for them and the community, a 17 year old girl called sk8r_rat says “I’m so glad I found this forum, thanks for brightening my week!!!!”. The people on this web site are so welcoming and warm, it might actually make the homelessness situation a little more like home. This sight is very valued and this is the reason we have mentioned it.
Yea so there it is....well i betta get back to my assignment i hope to hear from someone if they have anything else i can put in my assignment like a homeless persons view what it is like and everything like that....ok write back
cya later:)

Um, just to clarify.

JPET is a funded program, delivered by a number of agencies. The Salvation Army in Fortitude Valley administer the one she talks about.

Sight is spelt site as in website.

And this forum and website is provided by Rebeccas Community, which is based in Sydney and not part of the Salvos in Brisbane. Though our two services do communicate and cooperate to support young people we both have contact with.

Best wishes with your assignment for RE.

That sounds great mee mee, good on you for getting the word out there on homelessness. I think this site rocks, because it's great to be able to tell other people about your experiences and know (well I think anyway) that they really care about your situation, because on the streets it's very easy to think that nobody gives a damn, and on here there's always a sympathetic ear. And it's even better when people like dominic and streetseen who know alot about homelessness offer advice and stuff, like for example knowing where and when food vans come helps immensely. And just getting the word out there about homeless people and the homeless situation around the world is super cool.

Good luck for you assignment!!!
