its pretty much about the Cambridge homeless-or xhomeless/ vulnerably housed people community ect…its got vid links,forums,photos,music,poetry…and more! It’s pretty good actually and the poetry is really beautiful. I haven’t heard the music yet (coz im on dial up rite now) but I heard last years concert and Danny b4,, and its great talented stuff.
I’m sure they would lov to hear any feed back. The vid/music links ect are slow unless your on broadband.

camb link up NEWs! update

clup- have been making a cd of street voices, music and poerty from the buskers and homelesss of cambs......this is a brillant idea. and i believe around dec you can order a double cd from the link up web site.


they are currenlty building a mermorail garden.....they got a lottery grant. its looking great see web site for pictures :)

they have an arts and craft stall in camb, where they make reclyced crafts like hats and ash trays ect...great idea....seems very popluar. check out the pictures. open to all cambs von housed or homeless.

NEW: CD-Project

Both Sides of The Tracks is a truly eclectic collection of song,
musicianship and poetry. From hip hop to trad folk from blues to
punk, there and back, mixed up and in between. In some ways the least
interesting thing about Both Sides of the Tracks is what is shared by
those who have contributed to it ... their experiences of homelessness.

For some this means that tonight they will be sleeping in a doorway
or under canvas somewhere tucked away. For others it is the daily
grind of begging a sofa from increasingly reluctant ‘friends’. Many
have found shelter and support from Jimmy’s Nightshelter, hostels at
Willow Walk, 222 Victoria Rd, Corona House, Cyrenians, Emmaus and the
Jubilee Project. Still more have moved on to shared houses or their
own tenancies. The reasons for their homelessness are equally
diverse ... bereavement, mental or physical illness, unemployment,
marital breakdown, alcoholism, drug addiction, release from
prison ... real life struggles that could happen to anyone.

These are serious artists, musicians and poets, who, despite the
challenges of chaotic and disrupted lifestyles demonstrate real
commitment to their creative abilities. They are determined to make
their voices heard, share their experiences and challenge the
stereotype of hopeless homelessness.

This project has been made possible with funding raised by Cambridge
Link-Up from Awards For All (National Lottery) and has been
coordinated by the Editor of the Willow Walker, Kirsten Lavers in
collaboration with Jamie New of Ghettowise Records and Street Voices.

Both Sides of the Tracks is being released as a high quality double
CD retailing (from this website) at £10 + P&P
all proceeds will support further creative Link-Up projects

A special Music and Poetry edition of the Willow Walker magazine also
offers a free sampler CD with selected highlights from the double CD.

Both Sides Of The Tracks is being launched at Borders Bookstore on
Saturday 29th November 10am - 4pm
