Hi,
My name is Danielle from Mt St Benedicts College Pennant Hills. I am
currently studying year 12 and have chosen to study the Homeless for my
Community and Family Studies course.
As part of this assessment l am required to have a social definition of The
Homeless and l was wondering if you could help me in approaching a social
definition for my assessment.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Thankyou,
Danielle This is how I (Dominic Mapstone) define:
Homelessness - An inadequate experience of connectedness with family and or community (intangible).
Houselessness - An inadequate experience of shelter (tangible).
A few more definitions are here: http://www.homeless.org.au/homelessness/

Is this the kind of thing you were looking for?

If you use the definitions, attribute them properly.

Hey, it would be great to have you share the definition you came up with here. I'd like to learn what a social definition is (should have paid more attention at uni).

Contributions homeless people make to the community often include: fatherhood, motherhood, volunteer work, a lot also take first aid courses or CPR and often provide this care to other homeless people or members of the public. Some go out of their way for other people who are homeless or in need (especially those new to the streets).

Before and after life on the street homeless people come from every corss section of the community so their contribution to the community at other times is much like anyone elses.
